Georgia is one of the few countries that offers visa-free access to Indians under specific conditions, and even when a visa is required, the process is relatively simple and hassle-free. Here is everything you need to know before you go.
Do Indians Need a Visa for Georgia?
This depends on one important factor: whether you hold a valid visa for certain countries. Indian passport holders who have a valid visa or residence permit for the United States, the United Kingdom, the Schengen Area, or any EU member state can enter Georgia completely visa-free for up to 365 days. This is a remarkably generous policy and one of the most traveller-friendly arrangements Georgia offers.
If you do not hold any of the above, you will need to apply for a Georgian visa before travelling, which is a straightforward process outlined below.
Option 1: Visa-Free Entry
If you hold a valid US, UK, or Schengen visa, you are eligible for visa-free entry into Georgia for up to one year. A few things worth keeping in mind:
The visa you are using to enter Georgia must be valid at the time of your entry into Georgia. The visa needs to be valid and unused, or a multiple-entry visa that is still within its validity period.

What the e-Visa allows: A stay of up to 30 days for tourism purposes, with a validity period of 120 days from the date of issue, meaning you need to enter Georgia within 120 days of receiving your visa.

- A recent passport-sized photograph
- Details of your accommodation in Georgia
- A return or onward flight ticket
- Proof of sufficient funds for your stay
